Dear Parent,

I have written a few pointers to enable you to help your child with their school work this term and keep up to date with what is happening in Class M.

Each child has been given an e-folio account that has many resources to help them both at home and at school. You can login to the page by going to www.j.mp/efolio. Your child should learn their username and password by heart. If they have any problems logging on, please let me know.

This year I will give some computer/Internet based homework. I understand that not everyone has access to a computer at home. In these circumstances, I am happy to give children computer time to complete their homework during registration, break-times and at lunch.

Homework will be given every Wednesday and will usually be expected to be handed in the following Tuesday.

Your child will write a short note about homework in their homework diary and will be told in detail what to do. I will post more details homework and spellings on the homework section of our class website at www.j.mp/burretthw.

Spellings will be tested on Wednesdays and new spelling will be given on the same day. The children can use the SpellingCity website to help them learn their words - www.spellingcity.com/upperphase

All children will need a complete indoor and outdoor PE kit, including suitable footwear. Please ensure that the PE kit is in school every weekday.

There will be a meeting for all Year 5 and 6 parents in the evening of Monday 12th September.

Keep up with what work we have been doing and what topics and lessons are coming up by going to www.j.mp/classnews and browsing other pages on our class website.

Please also feel free to contact me if you have problems or concerns with any aspect of your child’s school life.

Email me by going to www.j.mp/burrettmail
